Frame Their Learning is designed to help teachers ask more thought-provoking questions to help improve exchanges with students and encourage high-quality thinking, learning, and retention. This program, combined with STEAM lessons, supports teachers by practicing the skills and tools presented to them while students engage in 3 different STEAM lessons aboard our STEAM Machine and 3 trainings. STEAM experiences integrate two or more concepts from science, technology, engineering, art, and math into engaging lessons, explore stations, or challenges. By fostering curiosity, exploration, and creativity, STEAM helps children develop strong problem-solving skills. |

Through STEAM, children experience and gain a deeper understanding of:
Science: Understanding the world around them through exploration and discovery by first using their senses and reflexes.
Technology: Understanding tools and machines and how they may be used to solve real-world problems.
Engineering: Understanding of how simple tools and machines assist with solving problems or creating objects and structures.
Art: Understanding how to express ideas and feelings, use words, manipulate tools and media, and solve problems. Children learn to express what they know, pursue their interests and abilities, and appreciate the contributions of others.
Math: Understanding number knowledge, patterns, size, shape awareness, and the relationship between objects and space.
By integrating STEAM with Frame Their Learning, we equip teachers with strategies to inspire deeper learning while providing students with engaging, hands-on experiences that strengthen critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Highlights from child care providers about using Frame Their Learning:
It helped me to recognize how I need to be intentional about engaging with the children, listening to them, and asking open-ended questions. I have incorporated the open-ended questions around the room, which I change on a regular basis. I also post and teach the vocabulary words. Just this week, we did an experiment with a homemade rocket, and I taught the kids the word "trajectory." They are learning to use new words.”
“I learned a whole new way to implement vocabulary in my classroom and be able to motivate students by displaying their work in front of the class.”
“It was a great way to prepare us to be ready for the CLASS assessment….We have used the kits, the open-ended questions, and some of the tools in our classroom.”
“I gained information that helped me be more prepared for the CLASS observation. I used the questions and posted them around the room. I have also used 3 of the activities from the kit. I scored well on the observation!”
