LENA Grow provides practice-based professional development for infant, toddler, pre-K teachers, and family child care providers. Children wear talk pedometers one day per week for the five weeks of implementation. The talk pedometer measures back-and-forth teacher and child interactions that are recorded to document conversational turns in the classroom.
LENA Grow helps to improve children's language, literacy, and social-emotional development while improving both teacher satisfaction and classroom quality.
As a participating provider, teachers will participates in coaching sessions provided by the ELC to learn new techniques and talk strategies while families receive weekly resources to use at home.
